Journal Databases

Here are some links to the databases that can be searched when conducting research.

If you have any questions, please contact either James Humble (jhumble@scs.edu) or Chelsea Post (cpost@scs.edu) for assistance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Federated Searching

A good thing to know about our Online Catalog: it is a federated search engine, which is a fancy way of saying that it draws upon multiple sources to show lots of different types of items. What this means for you is that you can type in a single keyword and get sources from our print collection as well as our audiovisual collection and (most importantly) our journal databases.

Federated Search Example When you make a search, be sure to check to the left under "Format" and narrow it down to "Article" - then you can bring up just those types of materials! It makes searching for specific types of sources much easier.

View Now LinkAnd when you find that article you want, be sure to look for the "View Now" link: clicking that button will allow a one-step jump straight to the article. You'll be prompted to log-in with your library account, but then you'll be taken directly to the article so you can start reading.
